RNI Testing offers building testing services throughout the UK. Our experienced team is based in the Southern Counties but can travel to any location. We provide sound testing, air tightness testing and ventilation testing to ensure your building is safe and compliant with regulations.
We provide comprehensive acoustic testing services to ensure that your building meets all necessary sound insulation standards.
Ventilation testing is done using UKAS-calibrated equipment operated by one of our registered engineers.
We use the latest technology and techniques to ensure that our services are of the highest standard.
Ventilation testing stands as a crucial step in guaranteeing the optimal functionality of a building's ventilation systems, ensuring they can effectively sustain proper airflow. Mandated by Part F (England & Wales), Section 3 (Scotland), and Part K (Northern Ireland) of The Building Regulations, ventilation testing becomes a requisite for new build dwellings and certain conversions. Our meticulous process employs UKAS-calibrated equipment, expertly operated by our registered engineers. This meticulous approach ensures not only compliance with regulatory standards but also the delivery of efficient and reliable ventilation solutions that contribute to the overall well-being and comfort within the built environment.
Air tightness testing measures how much air is lost through leaks in a building’s fabric. It is often called air leakage testing or air pressure testing. Residential properties that are greater than 500 m2 must have air tightness testing done in order to comply with UK building regulations and standards. All new UK must have an air test carried out as part of the approved document Part L.During an air tightness test, you will need to vacate the building and give our team access. We use blower fans to pressurise the building and test differences in pressure. The fan depressurises the house to -60Pa. An anemometer is used to read the internal pressure, external pressure, and how hard the fan is working. We can then calculate air leakage.
In compliance with UK Building Regulations Part E, both residential and commercial structures, including houses, flats, classrooms in schools, and commercial buildings, undergo mandatory sound testing before completion. This testing, conducted through airborne or impact tests, ensures adherence to acoustic standards. Airborne tests involve a controlled sound source, amplifier, and loudspeaker to measure noise levels in various rooms, while impact tests utilize a tapping machine to assess the impact sound on lower rooms. These stringent measures aim to uphold sound quality and acoustic performance in diverse building environments.
